The United Farmers of Alberta Co-operative says it has donated 4,800 N95 masks to Alberta Health Services.

“As soon as we learned that we had a supply of masks, we knew that it was the right decision to donate them where they are needed most,” said Glenn Bingley, chief operating officer for UFA, in a written statement.

In recent days doctors and the Alberta Union of Provincial Employees have raised concerns about the quality of imported masks. In response, the province says it is forming a “front-line focus group” to review and provide advice on purchases of personal protective equipment.
